El Dia de Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead is a festival held on All Saints Day on 1st November, and All Souls Day on 2nd November.
It is believed that the veil between heaven and earth is thinnest on these nights and so it is possible for the spirits of loved ones to come back and visit with the living. Although all the skeltons might seem macabre, it is a real celebration of life.
